ARTIST STATEMENT

While not always practical, I believe in living my life forward with honor and conviction.

"Love what you do, and do what you love"

A little about the above painting.   Please meet "Mooby Moo."  Mooby is a ("Pied" Black and White spotted) French Bulldog who entered into my daughter Melissa and my Son-in-law Damon lives,  shortly after my daughter graduated from the University of Mich, (Go Blue). Mooby was such a wonderful dog, she brought total joy and happiness to all that got to meet and know her.  Mooby lived a loved and cherished life, most of which, unfortunately, was plagued with health issues.  Did it get her down?  Absolutely not!  She seized the day, and never a complaint or whimper.  Sadly, Mooby passed away at the age of 13, and believe it or not, she actually lived longer then most average frenchies.  Mooby, while she is no longer with us in the physical world, she will be loved and will live in our hearts forever.

This painting took me over 10 years to finish (In other words, I got involved with life issues, and then lost track of all time regarding the completion of her painting.)  Am I proud of that?  Not really.  Sometimes life just happens and then...10 years had passed.

I recently took up the Mooby painting for my daughter's Birthday this year 2024, feeling awful that Mooby was alive when I started it and now she was gone. I have been having some troubles with my vision, so I thought it might be best to finish this, just in case my vision became impaired.  So far so good!

With the completion of Mooby's painting, and the long hiatus,  I have a renewed interest to further my ideas and push my style, that I am hoping wants to come out.  What does that mean? With age comes wisdom, patience, perseverance  and a willingness to take risks.  Even in retirement it is still a time for learning and I am really excited to see where this chapter of my life is headed.

Visit me often and stay tuned, I have lots of painting ideas floating around in my mind!  Above all, feel free to contact me and let's get acquainted!
